Sugar Games announces today the release of Rainbow Web for Mac OS X.
Similar to the Windows version that spawned a romantic interest among puzzle lovers worldwide,
the Mac version challenges you to travel through a fantasy world of the Rainbow Kingdom,
solve plenty of head-scratching puzzles and remove an evil spell plaguing the once idyllic land.
The game delivers a beautiful and engaging gameplay that was praised by top ratings on almost all
popular US game portals. Rainbow Web was in Top-10 at
RealArcade.com for 9 weeks, and more than one month on Yahoo! Games, GameHouse, and BigFish Games.
Rainbow Web is a fresh and fun mix of puzzle-solving and
exploration for players with brains, not with brawns. Traveling from one place to another, you
must break the magic spell and restore an original name of a place. You can do this by solving a
puzzle. At each place, you find a web with colored beads scattered all over it. Some of the beads
carry letters. You must swap beads to make a matching line of three or more beads that disappear,
adding to your score. In the first place, you must combine beads with letters as they get freed
and restore a spell-bound name of the place. When the name is restored, the place comes to
sunshine again and you can advance to the next place that offers you a new puzzle, more difficult
than the previous one.
As the game progresses, some elements of the web disappear, which makes matching beads a bit
more difficult, more so on higher levels. This is where tactics comes into play as you must decide
which of the beads to move, how and in what sequence. It spices up the gameplay and adds to the
game's replayability. All in all, you must go though 60 game levels with varying levels of
difficulty. The game gives you a choice of a timed and untimed play mode. The latter is good for
people seeking relaxation as it allows them to solve puzzles at their own pace.
Rainbow Web provides a rich and lengthy journey for kids and kids at
hearts, especially for those who hold adventure and puzzles in high regard, now on Mac platforms.

Rainbow Web runs under Mac OS X 10.3 or better and costs $19.95 (USD).
